In our hall in an industrial part of Cologne-Rodenkirchen, where you wouldn't suspect life anymore, we can produce up to 100,000 plants a month. And even if that sounds like industry and not much like nature - our quality and footprint are even better than organic!
We collect rainwater from the entire hall roof, use as much sunlight as we can get and operate one of the first "Vertical Farms" in Germany with the concept of hydroponics on approx. 2000 sqm. By growing so many plants in such a small space, we try to give space back to nature or create space for regenerative agricultural projects and declare war on the sinking water table.
For 1 kg of lettuce we need only 16l of water - in a conventional cultivation, up to 230l are used.
